Developed by London-based creative agency Adam&EveDDB, the 60-second spot is centred around the story of ‘Ray’ – a forgotten toy reminiscing about his golden days as a young girl’s favourite, as she now chooses to play with her shiny new monster truck.

Running through to Christmas Eve, the campaign will be pushed out via TV, video-on-demand, and digital in a bid to position The Entertainer as the go-to toy destination over the festive period.

Campaign #2 – Aldi: Get into the Christmas spirit with Kevin the Carrot

Kevin has been entrusted by Father Christmas with rescuing the Spirit of the season from would-be humbug kidnappers.

In the spot, we see a decidedly unhappy Santa who, once the very picture of health 100 years ago, has allowed himself to growth lethargic and morbidly overweight by giving in to a big-money contract.

The six-minute cinematic short, directed by Nez Khammal, opens with an explosive scene that transitions into behind-the-scenes chaos on a Hollywood set. When Santa Claus is injured, Statham steps in as the stunt double, transforming the production into an action-packed spectacle.

This epic Christmas campaign is the result of a collaboration between creative agency Matter and Energy, production company 100%, and visual effects studio Glassworks.

The ad has been made in response to Paddy Power’s research suggesting that 73% of viewers find Christmas ads too serious.

Created by BBH London, it takes a playful look at a moment familiar to many fans – unwrapping their first football shirt on Christmas morning.
